Transportation
Please make sure your child knows which mode of transportation he or she is
taking to go home. This year, your child can enter and exit through the 3rd/5th grade doors or the front entrance. If he/she is responsible for picking up a younger sibling please send a note with your child so I know that they may be leaving from a different exit. For your child's safety, a written notice is necessary for any changes in transportation.

Students will be assigned math homework each night (Mon. through Thurs. night). Occasionally, I will assign science homework. Each morning students are required to copy their homework for the night. All homework is assigned as a reinforcement for the lesson taught that day and should be completed for the following day (unless other due date is assigned).
I feel very strongly about incorperating reading into our everyday lives so I also assign a reading log each week. Students are required to read for at least 20 minutes each night (Mon. through Fri.) and should record their reading minutes on their reading log (A copy of this can be found on the useful links & resources link). A parents signature will also be required on the log. All reading logs will be collected on Monday mornings (or the first day of the week) for the week prior. I will be tallying all reading minutes for each month and will announce a monthly reading champion. We will also have a champion for the whole year!
Please check the student handbook for Bayview's Homework Policy.
